Collection Description
The Old York Library contains a unique assemblage of books, maps, images, newspapers, and memorabilia of New York City.
The collection, founded in the 1960's by Seymour Durst, chronicles the history, geography, architecture, culture, politics, and other aspects that tell the story of New York City.
As of June, 200, a significant portion of the collection was gifted to the Graduate Center of the City of New York to establish the Seymour B. Durst Reading Room.
As of February 2007, over 1,000 postcards from the Durst Collection may be searched through the website.
